Getting the right covering!

This week we are preparing. Preparing for half term. In this house half term means no ‘organised’ playgroups, so things tend to happen at home, with friends joining us for fun and games.

With a group of 18mth - 2yr olds (and a 12 weeks old popping in) this means creative activities, and that means mess.

I’ll talk more about what we did, and how we did it in the next post, but this entry is about preparing, and more imprtantly, protecting, the kitchen.

We planned to do some decorating, and the meant using the kitchen table that is more accustomed to grown-ups eating and reading. It needed a cover.

I knew what I wanted - colourful, waterproof, easy to store. It was easy to find too. Cut from the roll in John Lewis, the piece of ‘coated table cloth’ that we ended up with (and is in the pic) was less than £20 and should last as many monday mornings as we throw at it, meaning that our table stays clean and tidy for adult time, and looks fun and playful for kid time.

I am also sure that I could find a similar thing in a fabric warehouse, what do you use for keeping those sticky fingers off the table?
